UNIVERSITY PROFILE: North
Maharashtra University (NMU) established on 15th August 1990 under the
Leadership of founder Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Thakare, a well known
Mathematician. University is located at Jalgaon, golden city of India which is
50 km away from the famous Ajanta and Ellora caves. The campus is spread over
650 acres of land on hilly terrain and it is developed with beautiful,
spacious, academic, administrative and residential buildings that include
Institute of Chemical Technology and 13 Schools with various Departments.
University offers many fundamental, scientific and technological job oriented
courses. University teachers have successfully completed many research projects
and also taken up the projects in various fields including innovative project
‘Lab to Land’ which has scientific and social relevance and is initiated by the
Vice- Chancellor Prof. S. U. Meshram.
SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES (SMS):
School includes three Departments: Mathematics, Statistics and Department of
Actuarial Science. School offers courses/degree programmes: M.Sc.(Statistics)
with specialization in Industrial Statistics, M.Sc.(Mathematics) with
specialization in Computational Mathematics, B.Sc.(Actuarial Science), PG
Diploma in Actuarial Science (PGDAS), M.Phil./Ph.D. in Mathematics and
Statistics. School regularly organizes activities for UG and PG students,
college teachers and researchers. School has successfully organized three
national level conferences/workshops during last three years. Construction of
extension building for school is in progress. All faculty members in SMS are
actively engaged in research and their research areas include: Algebra,
Analysis, Differential Equations, Fluid Dynamic, Fuzzy Mathematics, Industrial
Statistics, Reliability, Health Statistics, Actuarial Science and Applied
Statistics.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES: This conference is an attempt to provide
common platform for researchers and practitioners in the field of Mathematics,
Statistics and Actuarial Science. More focus will be on current practices and
issues in these areas. This conference will also provide an opportunity to
M.Sc.(II) Students and college teachers to interact with researchers and scientists.
PROPOSED ACTIVITIES IN THE CONFERENCE: Invited talks, Paper presentation,
Case studies presentations, software demonstrations by researchers and
practitioners. • Presentation by M.Sc.(II) students are also welcomed which may
include case studies/projects/review articles. Prizes will be given to best
three presenters.

Authors
willing to present papers, case studies or projects should send an abstract
with not more than 150 words on neatly typed A4 size paper. Please submit your
abstract through E-mail attachments in MS-Word/LaTeX format to Conference

the hostels.
